TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG PT.1: THE 1ST AMENDMENT DIVIDE

I've been absent from the "Your Blog" section of Town Hall. Not that I haven't had anything to "say",for I have made the "short and sweet" commentary on Facebook, but I have been meditating on the concept of "The Blog".
There are few who Blog that can measure up with to the Town Hall columnists with their flair and dexterity of expression on these serious issues. I'll go even further and say that most people don't even read these Blogs. For "me" the opportunity to "express myself" on such a platform has been reward enough just getting it off my chest. If someone reads it, cool. If no one reads it, cool. I've out it down and out there. Participating in Facebook has been fun and interesting. I've met so many like minded people that it makes me wonder what Washington and the compliant media is thinking with all that they are trying to do and trying to spin. At the same time I've been "unfriended" by those who disagree and refuse to defend their position. They refer to me and others who comment on a particular issue as, "very angry" or "aggressive" and the big one "hateful" simply because we reject the policies that "we" view as destructive an contrary to "our" understanding of what these United States of America is about and its purpose, intent and over 200 years of a "Great Experiment", pro and con. It seems that those who support the administration and the actions of congress are so invested that they have dismissed any reasonable argument against what is happening. Understandable. That's what their models are doing as well.
One of the arguments that they seem to overlook is the possibility that these same tactics will be applied to "them" should the government find "their" objections to policies, and at some point they will object to "something", shouldn't stand in the way of government's agenda. They don't see that "they" could be muzzled just like conservatives, Republicans or anyone who raises or takes issue with government intrusions. Trying to make this point cost me a "friend", further demonstrating the severity of the divide among people that is being fostered between Conservatives and Progressives. Liberals were a lot easier to live with because, on level, they still understood and upheld fundamentals of the nation and were willing to address the outlined process for such changes within the rule of law in The Constitution. Progressives, however, as stated by Barak Obama, believe that the Constitution doesn't allow the government enough authority to initiate "change". He even stated that he intended to fundamentally change America. Where can that be done without dismissal or circumventing the rule of law in The Constitution? Nevermind that it was the whole idea; Government of the People, by the People and for the People. It was and still is a most unique concept for the coexistence of not only the differences among people, but one umbrella that all people could stand under with limited intrusion on the one standing next to you.
What Progressives seem to be successfully doing is promoting and perpetuating the lower elements of our Human Nature, nurturing the divides, such that we are no longer "One Nation Under God", but "Individuals and Small Groups/Collectives Under Government". They have done this by altering the concepts of "Rights vs Privileges" and assuming the authority over the determination of Rights and Privileges.
I will address this further at another time, and it needs to be soon, because the ability to "express myself", whether it is read or not by those who attend this site or participate in this site are very much under the threat of new consequences being designed by Progressives, and reversing the First Amendment. Makes sense. What way would be better to dismantle the rule of law under The Constitution than to control Free Speech?
Just a thought........
